Organic skincare has many benefits, and many people are actually moving away from conventional drugstore products to clean beauty options. I found a lovely brand I’d like to share with you today called Renew You Body Butter (who is sponsoring this post), which only uses ethically-sourced and one-hundred percent organic products in their hand made luxury skincare items. Before I jump in to a review of their products, let’s go over why you should make the switch to organic skincare.
#1. Powerful skin healing properties of organic ingredients.
Organic ingredients have bioactive components that react with our skin on a cellular level. The organic ingredients work to promote the skin’s ability to heal itself by providing essential oils and nutrients that help the skin barrier maintain homeostasis (an internal balance).
#2. Eco-Friendly
You are literally saving the world when you use organic skincare products. Harsh chemicals used in inorganic skincare are often manufactured in factories that put off toxic pollution and waste. Every time you take a shower, swim in the pool/ocean/local lake, you’re contaminating that body of water with these inorganic chemicals. Often, these chemicals don’t break down: they cause aquatic plants to die and increase the chances of toxic algae blooms. By switching to organic skincare, which is ethically sourced, harvested, manufactured, and shipped, you are saving our Earth one bubble bath at a time.
#3. Better for your skin.
On average a person uses up to 10 different skincare products on their body every day. Skin is the largest organ in the body and it acts as a sponge, absorbing 80% of everything we apply to it. When you’re using harmful conventional skincare products, you are directly damaging the largest organ of your body. The harsh chemicals in organic skincare products can strip the skin of natural oils and cause over dryness, irritation, flakiness, and more. Organic products protect and nourish your skin, preventing dry skin or psoriasis and eczema outbreaks.
#4. To protect your endocrine system.
Your endocrine system is a collection of glands that produce hormones that regulate metabolism development, tissue function, sexual function, reproduction, sleep, among other things. Hormone-disrupting chemicals often found in inorganic skincare products easily throw it off balance. When your endocrine system is out of balance it’s hard to look and feel your best.
#5. Nutrient-Rich
Organic skincare is nutrient-rich. Using all-natural organic skincare provides the skin with essential fatty acids that help to make you appear more youthful. Many organic skincare products also include Super Foods such as pomegranate, green tea, and other popular plant-based all-natural boosts.
#6. Prevent Premature Aging
Organic skincare helps prevent premature aging. Organic skincare products slow down the aging process since they include potent bioactive ingredients that act on a cellular level. Instead of providing temporary smoothness, they improve your skin in long run.
#7. Skincare affects your whole body
You wouldn’t walk into your kitchen and pour yourself a cup of chemicals, right? Just like how consuming chemicals is harmful, the same goes with your skincare! Absorbing these chemicals through your skin prevents your skin from operating at its healthiest. Plus using organic skincare and trying to embody an organic lifestyle will help enhance your energy on all levels. As a result, your skin will feel revitalized, up your energy levels, and feel great about helping the Earth!
#8 Support Organic Farmers
Supporting organic skincare is supporting an organic farmer. In an age of convenience and GMOs, organic farming is a struggling livelihood. Organic food, just like organic skincare, is way more nutrient-dense and responds with your body on a cellular level to promote health and vitality.
Renew You Body Butters Organic Skincare Product Review
I was graciously gifted some body butter and therapeutic bath salts to try out. The body butter was super smooth, and worked wonders for moisturizing! It can be used anywhere on your body, which I think is really nice. My hands have been super dry over the winter, and the body butter definitely helped moisturize them quickly!
I also love the citrus smell of the therapeutic bath salts. Because its made of 100% organic ingredients, you can easily dissolve them into your bath without worrying about adding random chemicals to the water. They’re definitely really soothing!
Interview With The Founder
I got an amazing opportunity to interview the founder herself, Kayshaun Brooks about her company and building a skincare business. Her mission behind Renew You Body Butters is to help others learn about the benefits of organic skincare and offer luxury products at prices people can afford.
So just to give a little bit of backstory, you actually started making organic skin products to treat your son’s eczema. What inspired you to turn this into a business?
My journey into natural and holistic health, started due to personal health issues and my background in healthcare. Therefore, when my son was diagnosed as an infant with eczema and years of prescribed medication that didn’t work it good enough, it was kind of natural to try different oils and butters. It took several years to come up with a blend of that finally give him and others I knew the results needed to repair and stop further damaging the skin. After some years went by I finally step out on faith and officially launched my business.
Who are your biggest business inspirations?
My inspirations change and are flexible. They depend on the situation at hand and what I’ve learned to do different or better. However, I do have several people who inspire me mentally, emotionally, spirituality, financially, professional and personal.
As you launched this businesses, what would you say was the #1 challenge you faced? How did you overcome this?
Rebranding was the most challenging so far for me in my business. When I first started, I was selling my products in glass jars at vendor events and farmers market. When I wanted to have an online appearance I first started with was not as eye catching and that told me I needed to change and rebrand. Making a decision like that is kind of scary and nerve wracking because you’re like “what if this” or “what if that”. I overcame it by prayer and meditation asking God to lead me. As I did this I just started looking at other companies to get inspiration and overtime fell in love with what you see today.
What plans do you have for Renew You Body Butters in the next five years?
Next is starting either an ambassador and or affiliate program but that will be done this year. In five years I would like to see Renew You Body Butters as a multi seven figure business and at the same if not higher level as Mary K or Avon.
